About Us

Who we are:

WORKS OF HEaRT ,inc. members are professional artists initially trained through the Decorative and Ornamental Painting and Design program at Wichita State University. This program, under the guidance of Diane Thomas Lincoln, takes decorative art to a higher level and teaches that decoration is beautiful and meaningful by itself, but when used to broaden our worldview, it transcends and becomes a vehicle for personal and social change.

We realized upon graduation that we needed a professional organization to share this concept with the world community. We needed an organization where artists could use their skills to engage the public, in fun and interesting ways, how to better interact with their world through art. This organization also needed to allow the members a way to continue learning about society and hone our skills as artists. Works of Heart, inc. was born.

We have three projects that help explain what our organization is about: Sacred Space, an interactive exhibit about cultural diversity and endangered species; Big Brothers Big Sisters ceramic wall mural installed at BBBS headquarters in Wichita; and the Bottles of Hope Project for cancer patients.

You can find more information about these projects by clicking the “Projects” link on the website. If you have any comments please feel free to email us by using the “Contact Us” link. Thank you for your interest in WORKS OF HEaRT ,inc.
